Sebastian Vettel’s Horse Girl Era is Here

Or maybe his cottagecore era but honestly he’s been baking bread since before the Tiktok trad wives made it cool so he’s probably always been in that era

Charles has nothing to do with this there was just a second person in this photo and Charles needs to practice up for the day that my campaign to get Ferrari to have horses succeeds. The actual point is that this morning Danke_Seb shared German reporting that Seb was actually enrolling in farm school. As this is clearly the most important news of the day I simply had to know more.

It is a vocational program through the Swiss government where they train farmers who have completed an apprenticeship program to participate in their federal agriculture program. I am not a expert on Swiss Agricultural policy by any stretch of the imagination but from what I gather it’s not unlike U.S. subsidies for meeting ecological objectives and organic farming. The course teaches them what the standards are, how to meet them, and how to do the paperwork which is honestly SO helpful because figuring out government forms is so frustrating when you’re going in blind.

The whole thing seems pretty intensive, there is a written and oral test at the end and obviously which is stressful. I obviously think Seb will be fine, he seems very smart and it’s not like you’re doing calc but the idea of him sitting down and taking LSAT is so funny to me. Obviously it’s not the same thing who knows what the classrooms in Switzerland are like, probably beautiful and nothing like i’m picturing to be honest. I googled the county they said it is in to see if it was in Germany or Switzerland and the Google image results were insane.

So I am probably incorrect because I am picturing my own SAT testing room but the mental image is funny none the less. Also no matter where it is imagine being in that class, what an insane situation to show up to what is essentially school, just living your life, and Sebastian Vettel sits down next to you. I don’t know how popular F1 is in Switzerland but I have to imagine at least a handful of people will definitely be like ummmm what. It did make me think about what it would be like to work with him on a group project and much as I adore the man I do think it would probably be unbearable. He just seems like the type to want to do everything for himself and unfortunately there is only room for one control freak in this partnership and I have already taken that slot.

I do think it’s so cool that he is becoming an actual farmer though, very on brand to just go all in. We knew he lived on at least a farm like situation but that is different than actually growing food or raising animals. He says he has chickens (and a dog) in this Mission Winnow Q&A from 2020 that lives rent free in my head but no other animals. Which makes sense honestly he was gone half the year and I can imagine one person managing children and livestock at the same time probably not possible. We also know that Sky Germany gifted Seb two alpacas for his farm when he retired (I still want to know their names) so presumably at that point he was at least planning to get more animals because gifting someone two alpacas out of thin air is insane.

I’m not going to share the actual German reporting because it is pretty specific about where he lives and I know this is probably public information but it still feels weird. But they do say he has a horse farm with fairly high confidence and as Franzi pointed out to me, the Schumacher’s also have a horse farm. I’m not 100% clear on what a horse farm actually entails like is this man breeding horses?? Perhaps it’s an alpaca farm and they’re just classed as horses. This did lead me down a brief rabbit hole about whether you can ride alpacas (obviously no but they can carry things) and in my googling I found this Swiss Tourism page on alpaca trekking. So as of 10 minutes ago I will not be satisfied with my life until i go on a hike with an alpaca in the Swiss mountains.

Seb’s potential horse girl era aside, he has been getting into farming for awhile. He actually meets the apprenticeship requirement for this certification course (I assume) because he completed an organic farming internship during lockdown. (Via Motorsport.com)

Such a cool project but more importantly keeps alive my long time dream of seeing Charles Leclerc interact with a chicken, please Seb you can make this happen I believe in you. Also I need the next person who interviews him to ask about the alpacas, are they liking Switzerland? What are their names? etc.

My main point here though is that this is actually so perfect because I have long said that Ferrari needs a stable of black horses that they use on ceremonial occasions. To be honest with you I am shocked they have not already thought of this themselves it seems so on brand for Ferrari. Maranello is pretty industrial though so I don’t know if it’s the best place to have horses. This is the perfect solution, Seb is the perfect person to be in charge of the Ferrari horses. Obviously they will pay him for his troubles because they really do owe him financial compensation for the horrors.
